5 care tips for your child's actireo trainers

Have you just bought your child a pair of Newfeel Actireos? These shoes have been specially designed for all of your child's everyday and sporting activities. Here are five easy ways to keep them looking spick and span for as long as possible... or to bring their sparkle back!

1 – Let the insole breathe each evening

The insole soaks up perspiration from your child's feet. It's designed to absorb the moisture that builds up over the course of the day. If you take it out, it will be able to dry faster. You'll get rid of any bad smells as well as maintaining its ability to absorb moisture.

2 – Regularly clean the outsole with a soft cloth

The Actireo's outsole can be easily cleaned using a soft cloth or damp sponge, without you needing to scrub too hard! Remember to clean them regularly so that dirt doesn't build up and become encrusted in the material.

3 – Feel free to clean the top of the shoe in fresh water

The "upper" (everything above the sole) is made from water-repellent material. Water slides over it but won't soak inside the shoe. You can therefore clean this part as often as you want using a soft cloth or damp sponge.

4 – Do up the rip-tabs properly, even when your child isn't wearing their Actireos

Make sure the rip-tabs are properly lined up, irrespective of whether the shoes are being worn or not, so that they maintain their grip. If dust and bits of grass manage to get stuck in them, they'll become less effective.

  • To clean the rip-tabs: fold the soft part in half and rub both halves together. Any dust that has built up will form a ball, so all you need to do is pull it off by hand or using a pair of tweezers. The other part, which grips the softer part, can be cleaned using a small brush.

5 – You can put them through a few wash cycles

We don't recommend putting your child's Actireo shoes through the washing machine too many times because you'll risk damaging the glue and foam they're made of. If you want to machine-wash them, remove the insole and put them on a cool cycle.

  • We recommend a maximum of four machine washes per year. Also, try not to dry your child's Actireo shoes near a heat source or in direct sunlight as this could damage the colours.

From birth to adulthood, your child's feet have a long road to travel before they reach maturity. The structure and needs of their feet will develop over time, from the moment when they first start to walk. We'll tell you all you need to know about helping your child's feet grow healthily!

This is a burning subject in this period of recovery! It's time to fit out the family and particularly our young teenager who is going to college... Your children will certainly be asking you for a backpack that looks "so cool" in the playground, when your common sense is pushing you towards a practical schoolbag that is properly designed for the back... The fight is on!
