How are Newfeel products tested?

At Newfeel, all our fitness and Nordic walking products are tested by users, amateurs and enthusiasts. Our objective is simple: more comfort, high-tech features and pleasure when walking! So, how are Newfeel products tested?

How are product tests conducted?

At Newfeel, we have several types of tests:

- Laboratory tests:
Our products are tested in the laboratory to evaluate certain product features, such as flexibility, cushioning, grip, and even the breathability of a pair of fitness walking shoes.

• Field tests:
Other tests are conducted at a location and date that is set in advance in the advertisement, usually at Decathlon's international head office in Villeneuve d’Ascq in the north of France. Testers must be present on the day and conduct tests following the Newfeel Field Test engineer team's instructions.

• wear tests: over several months
These tests are completely autonomous and conducted during the fitness walker's weekly programme.Testers receives the product free of charge. It's then up to them to count the number of hours and kilometres they use the product, and then answer a questionnaire after 1 month, 2 months and 3 months of use.

As a result, the product undergoes three different types of test, conducted by about 50 walkers, before being approved for sale.

Recruiting testers: how does it work?

We call directly on the walking community to test our new products! Who better to test new equipment and give their advice than fitness and Nordic walkers themselves?

Where can you find the advertisements for applying to become a Newfeel tester? The call for applicants is launched online and it includes all the testing details and the required walker profile. People are also recruited using advertisements in our stores.

What profile is needed to become a Newfeel tester?

Newfeel tests are open to fitness and Nordic walkers, regardless of their level of ability. Whether you are a beginner or a regular walker, you are welcome to give your opinion on our products! Gender, age and shoe size: each advertisement describes the required profile. Testers must then be able to share their feelings about the product and be thorough in reporting information.

Would you like to become a Newfeel tester?

As fitness and Nordic walkers, would you like to help us continue improving our products? Respond to an advertisement if your profile matches the description. All you need to do is create an account and complete your profile on the Decathlon Creation site!

Note: carefully check the location of the Newfeel test. Don't apply for a test taking place at Villeneuve-d’Ascq if you live 500 km away! Tests are usually (95%) conducted using sample sizes (i.e. size 5.5 for women, 9 for men, and 1.5 for children)

It's thanks to you - Nordic and fitness walkers and testers - that we are able to optimise our Newfeel products!
