3 – Because you can go walking every day

To maintain interest and stay motivated to do sport, there’s no need to follow a programme that is intense and above all unsustainable. Getting yourself moving regularly is already great! There’s a good reason why health experts recommend walking: 30 minutes every day is enough and you don’t even have to walk continuously:

"Exercise can be spread out over the day. A quick 10-minute walk, 3 times a day, or 20 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes later in the day. Walking can be a part of your daily activities, or can be done during longer sessions to maximise its beneficial effects" - Dr. Patrick Bacquaert, Chief Medical Officer for the IRBMS.

  • TO STAY MOTIVATED: To stick to your resolutions, start off gently. Then, over the weeks, increase the pace or duration of your fitness walking sessions. Start with sessions of 20 to 30 minutes, then gradually work up to 1 hour and longer if you feel like it!
