ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

What are the differences between Nordic walking and hiking?
Nordic walking is done with poles, just like hiking. However, the two activities are not carried out on the same surface, therefore you need the right equipment for each. Nordic walking is done on flat surfaces, so poles help to drive your walking movement and give the upper body a thorough workout. This is unlike hiking, which is done on steep, craggy ground, where poles are used to get a grip and avoid slipping.
What are the special features of Nordic walking poles?
Wrist-straps (or gauntlets) allow you to put your thumbs through so you can let go of the poles and grab them again: the sport's key movement. The tip of the poles adapt to wet or muddy ground, metal tips allow the pole to penetrate dry or hard ground, and rubber caps give you increased grip. Poles, preferably single-stranded, absorb vibrations and take the pressure off your joints. Nordic walking requires two poles, which is why they are sold in pairs.
What are the benefits of Nordic walking?
Nordic walking is a complete and effective physical activity because it provides a workout for many of the muscles in your body. Like other sports, it offers many advantages for health and staying in shape. It is also one of the sports that has the least impact on joints while simultaneously giving your body a good workout. Finally, it can be done with poles to allow you to work out the upper body (shoulders, abs, arms). For more information, please visit www.newfeel.com.
