When walking quickly, the movement of your foot starts at the heel and rolls through to the toes.The entire foot plays an active role in this movement. The Propulse Walk footwear was designed specifically to accompany your foot throughout this movement. 

WHY DOES THE HEEL OF THE PROPULSE WALK FOOTWEAR POINT BACKWARDS?

The overhanging heel at the back of the Propulse Walk footwear is not a trendy feature: it absorbs the impact of your heel with the walking surface. When walking quickly, your heel touches the ground first. As you speed up, the foot points upwards at a greater angle which leads to the outside of the heel hitting the ground first. 

A FLAT SOLE?

When fitness walking, your feet are permanently in contact with the ground. That's why the sole of the Propulse Walk footwear is as flat as possible. When fitness walking, the difference in height between the sole and the rest of the shoe (what is known as the 'drop') must not exceed 10mm. The Propulse Walk shoe has a 9mm drop in order to improve the contact with the ground.

Propulse Walk femmeWHY DOES THE SOLE OF THE PROPULSE PROTECT YOUR BIG TOE?

When looking at the sole of the Propulse footwear, you may have noticed that the big toe of your foot has the same level of protection as the heel. That's because, when you are walking quickly, the energy absorbed by the heel as it comes into contact with the ground is transmitted to the toes in order to propel you forwards. As your foot rolls through, the force of propulsion exerted on your metatarsals in order to move forwards is equivalent to the energy absorbed by your heel. In order to choose the right fitness walking shoe, make sure that the front of the footwear has the same level of protection for the toes as it does for the heel!

A good fitness walking shoe must be flexible. It must be flexible to ensure the ideal foot motion while correctly supporting your foot. Its single-piece sockliner prevents your feet from rubbing against the footwear, thereby minimising blisters!

GOOD TO KNOW: 

Maybe you are asking yourself whether you should choose your fitness walking footwear, according to the your foot-type. The Propulse Walk footwear is for neutral feet. In the event of over-pronation or under-pronation, or you would like to find out your foot type, we recommend that you consult a foot doctor, who will be able to advise you. The insole of the Propulse Walk footwear is not glued and may be replaced with an orthopaedic sole.
