active walking and school sports.
The Newfeel recommends cleaning the outside of the shoes/trainers with a sponge or a clean and damp cloth. Take care not to dry them near a heat source. For greater hygiene you can regularly remove the removable insoles from your children's shoes when they are not being worn. This will allow the sole and the shoe to dry in optimum conditions. For more information see www.newfeel.com
The Newfeel team recommends storing your shoes/trainers in a dry, dark and well-ventilated place.
Field testing of products
All Newfeel children's shoes/trainers are tested in the field in conditions identical to those your children might encounter everyday, both indoors and outdoors before being brought to market. These tests allow us to improve and validate the quality of our shoes.
Laboratory tests are carried out by Newfeel to validate the properties and benefits of walking shoes/trainers such as flexibility (elasticity), abrasion (wear) of the sole, adhesion between the upper and the outsole, etc.
For use with "orthopaedic" insoles, take one size up or remove the removable insoles!
For better hold of the foot inside the shoes, all Newfeel children's models have a specially designed high-quality heel stiffener.
Should you choose one size above the child's shoe size so that they can wear their shoes for longer?
No! If the shoe is too large you child's foot will not be supported properly, especially around the heel. The foot can thus go off to the sides and the shoe is no longer "one" with the foot. The child would therefore risk changing their natural gait, causing it to be compensated for by the knees, hips and back. Nevertheless, the child's foot should not be held too tightly in the shoe. There should be a 6 mm gap between the tip of the foot and the front of the shoe.
How to check that the chosen size for my child's shoes is the right one?
The child should first place their foot right to the front of the shoe. You should then press the palm of your hand down on the front of the child's foot to ensure the toes are not curled up.Try and fit your finger down the back of the shoe, behind the heel (right to the bottom) to see if there is enough space (6 mm).If it is a thin finger, the tip of your finger will be about 10mm thick. If you can squeeze it in but it is tight then that's a perfect fit!For more information see www.newfeel.com
Is it preferable to choose shoes/trainers with a marked "arch of the foot"?
No! 90% of children are born with healthy feet. They don't have flat feet, they have fleshy feet! As they grow up their feet develop muscle and the arch of the foot forms. Using an arch means using a prosthesis! When it is no longer there (barefoot or shoes with no arch), the body seeks to compensate for this imbalance which can lead to back pains. For more information see www.newfeel.com.
My little one gets through shoes faster than anything else - how can I choose the most durable pair?
Children tend to wear the front of their shoes more. Pay special attention to the level of the sole. A naturally durable material like rubber will last longer. A sole that "envelops" the foot or even a rising sole will also serve as a "bumper". For the top, you should know that leather is a guarantee of durability and a specially adapted reinforcement will limit premature wear. For more information see www.newfeel.com.
